From Jacki Weaver's pre-taped response to winning the Australian Film Institute's award for Best Actress for her fantastic work in David Michod's Animal Kingdom. I'm not exactly what possessed people to put the performance in lead, but that's not the point here. The point is that this speech has two of the best qualities an acceptance speech can have: grace and humor. I especially love the part where she thanks her ex-husbands. Here's hoping this isn't the last time we see Weaver giving an acceptance speech over the next few months; the more time she gets to talk at awards shows, the better.
