A Mighty Heart - REVIEW
- surprisingly involving, seeing as the film is paced almost like a thriller.
- Dan Futterman (who wrote the Oscar nominated screenplay for "Capote") does a good job with what little time he has as Danny Pearl.
- Angelina Jolie's performance isn't horrible...but she shifts from extremes. For most of the film she's understated...almost too understated, and then when the time comes for her to be sad, she goes WAY overboard. The sounds she makes while being devastated are the exact same noises she makes later in the film when she gives birth to her son (um....awkward, much?). In the very end she finds the balance of subtlety, but her accent is still a bit odd (accents obviously are not her strength as an actress).
