Ben Affleck has finally redeemed himself for the atrocity that is "Gigli". With Gone Baby Gone he proves that perhaps his talents are better suited to working behind the camera. Though Amy Ryan's performance isn't really all it's cracked up to be, the rest of the film is a well executed and intense mystery/drama. Though it takes a while to get started, once you realize that not everything is what it seems, the film becomes fascinating with twists and turns that build and build and build. Although I have to admit that one scene near the end reminded me a little too much of The Departed (the fact that it's set in Boston as well didn't help much).
