so tomorrow is American Gangster, though unfortunately I'm stuck waiting until Saturday *sigh*. However, it will be interesting seeing as some of the "buzz" has worn off for this movie. Lots of early reviews have called it a superb rehashing of older gangster movies. In other words, it's excellent, but doesn't do anything new or groundbreaking for the gangster genre. This was never going to win BP (The Departed's win made sure of that) but now a nomination is starting to seem less likely, and as films like "Juno" gain more steam......well, we'll see. Check back Saturday for the review....
