New trailer for "Sucker Punch"

While I don't think this trailer is as slick as the first, it's still intriguing. Despite having graphic novel origins, this looks more like any fanboy's perfect vision of a video game adaptation. I generally like the cast (which includes the not-seen Jon Hamm), and it's cool to see someone like Abbie Cornish in a big action spectacle like this. But I can't say that the visuals don't worry me. They look great, intense even, but if Snyder and his DP don't stage/film this right, it's going to feel weightless and lack any punch (haha). All the hyperactive editing (please let it be more calm in the film than it is in this trailer) in the world can't magically turn a fight scene into something with kick. As we saw in Kick-Ass, less can be a lot more, and if Sucker Punch is merely bloated CGI excess, it will fall flat, no matter how bad ass it looks on paper, or even on screen. I'm not saying that the film needs to be some psychologically rich character study, far from it. I'm expecting a bunch of attractive leads kicking ass in outlandish and cool scenarios. But there's a biiiiig difference between popcorn flicks that legitimately pack a punch in their candy-coated fights (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) and those that just feel empty and noisy (Transformers).
