Trailer for "The Green Hornet"

While I'm still not sold on Seth Rogen as an action hero, I'm eager to see what director Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) brings to the super hero genre. That, and the presence of Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) as the villain is always a plus, even though the January 14th release date is slightly worrisome.

Edward James Olmos joins Gondry's "The Green Hornet" with Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz

Source: Slashfilm.com

HollywoodSnitch has learned that Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica) has a role in Michel Gondry’s The Green Hornet. Not much is revealed other than this slim quote from Olmos:

“I’m on my way to do ‘The Green Hornet,’” Olmos said. “It’ll be a lot of fun with Seth [Rogen], Nicolas Cage and Cameron Diaz.”

There’s no word yet on which role he will play. It is possible that he could play Gunnigan, who is described on wikipedia as “the irascible city editor of The Daily Sentinel (whose temper invariably got worse in the presence of Axford or even when Axford was talking to him on the phone).” Sounds like a part that Olmos could easily play. Anyone more familiar with the franchise have any better ideas? Columbia Pictures announced last week that Jay Chou will play The Green Hornet’s sidekick Kato. The Green Hornet is scheduled to hit theaters on July 9th, 2010 release.
