RIP: Pete Postlethwaite (1946-2011)

This morning brought the unfortunate news that Oscar-nominated actor Pete Postlethwaite passed away after a long fight with cancer yesterday. It's always a shame when someone so talented and with such a vibrant, diverse career passes away at such a relatively young age (64). His Oscar-nominated turn in In the Name of the Father ranks up there with the best of them, and is just one great moment in a rich career that deserves to be remembered.

Kill Bill and Kung Fu star David Carradine has been found dead in a Bangkok hotel room, BBC correspondent Jonathan Head has reported.

The 72-year-old was in Thailand filming his latest film Stretch, according to his personal manager Chuck Binder.

Mr Binder said the news was "shocking", adding: "He was full of life, always wanting to work... a great person."

R.I.P Natasha Richardson (1963-2009)

What a shame. My thoughts and prayers go out to Liam Neeson, their two sons, and the whole Redgrave acting family.
